Note: this questionnaire has been shared online before. Do not fill this in if you have already completed the questionnaire. The researchers would like the answers of 100 women, this number has not yet been reached. That's why we're sharing the questionnaire again.

Study on breastfeeding

Women with HIV are allowed to decide for themselves whether they want to breastfeed their baby or not. This is called ‘shared decision-making'. The Hiv Vereniging supports this, and believes that women can make this choice themselves with access to good and honest information.

Researchers from Erasmus MC, Amsterdam UMC and Radboud UMC want to set up a study to determine which HIV medication can be given best during the period of breastfeeding. The study is important because HIV medication can pass from the mother to the child through the mother's milk. Researchers want to know what dose of medication can pass and whether there is a difference between the different types of HIV medication. Additionally, the researchers want to know how women with HIV can be informed best about breastfeeding and HIV.

Before the researchers can get subsidy for this large study, it is necessary to identify how many women with HIV actually would have wanted or want to breastfeed in The Netherlands. That is why we ask women with HIV to fill in a questionnaire.

Questionnaire

You can participate by completing a short questionnaire. You can participate if you have children, but also if you want to have children. The questionnaire takes approximately 10 minutes. The answers are stored anonymously and cannot be traced. The questionnaire can be found here.
