Stoere Hanne over haar motivatie om mee te doen aan Humans of Amsterdam in de METRO

hanne in metro"As I don't feel like living with a secret, I have been very honest and open about my situation from the start. At first only with closest family and best friends, but as I have been growing more and more confident (also thanks to the love and support), I now have the attitude ''what you see is what you get, if you can't handle it, feel free to get your ass out of my life.

I don't know if anyone is familiar with ''humans of new york''? A guy in New York takes pictures of the people there, and tries to capture (part of) their story in a few paragraphs. In Amsterdam, we have a girl doing the same. I saw an announcement on instagram, and after carefully thinking about it, decided to share part of my story. Today you'll find it in the free Dutch newspaper ''Metro''. I believe next week it will be on instagram and facebook, in English (search for humans of Amsterdam).

So, here I am a happy girl (should I call myself a woman at age of 27? I feel like a girl haha), enjoying life, proud of who I am and hoping that maybe I will have helped at least 1 person with HIV who feels ''less'' than other people, who feels like they can't talk about it, who thinks that now they can't be happy. People should know that anyone can get it, and you can still be everything you want to be."
